Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR)

Secure your permanent status in the United Kingdom. I'll verify your eligibility, prepare your application, and ensure nothing jeopardises your settlement.

What Is ILR?

Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR), also known as settled status, gives you the right to live and work in the UK without any immigration restrictions. It is a crucial step toward British citizenship. ILR is available after a qualifying period of continuous residence — typically 5 years on most work or family visas, or 10 years on the long residence route.

Eligibility Requirements

• Continuous residence in the UK for the required period (usually 5 years) • No more than 180 days absent in any rolling 12-month period • Pass the Life in the UK test • Meet the English language requirement (B1 level or exempt) • No unspent criminal convictions • Meet any route-specific requirements (e.g., salary threshold for Skilled Workers) I conduct a thorough eligibility audit before filing — checking absences, testing your readiness, and identifying any potential issues.

Common Pitfalls

ILR applications are refused more often than people expect. Common reasons include: • Exceeding the 180-day absence limit (even by a single day) • Gaps in employment or salary below the threshold • Incorrect calculation of the continuous residence start date • Missing or expired qualifications for the English language requirement My methodical approach means every date is verified, every absence calculated, and every document cross-referenced before submission.
