UK VISA SERVICE

Skilled Worker Visa

The primary route for professionals with a UK job offer from a licensed sponsor. I understand both sides of the sponsorship equation — your application and your employer's compliance.

What Is the Skilled Worker Visa?

The Skilled Worker visa (formerly Tier 2 General) allows you to come to or stay in the UK if you have a job offer from an approved employer (a licensed sponsor). The role must meet a minimum skill level and salary threshold. As someone who spent a decade managing sponsorship from the employer's side, I know exactly what the Home Office expects — from both the applicant and the sponsor.

Eligibility Requirements

• A valid Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) from a licensed sponsor • The job must be at RQF Level 3 or above (A-level equivalent) • Minimum salary: £26,200/year or the 'going rate' for the occupation (whichever is higher) • English language proficiency at B1 level (CEFR) • Sufficient maintenance funds (£1,270 held for 28 consecutive days, unless sponsor certifies) • Valid TB test certificate (if applicable)

The Points-Based System

The Skilled Worker visa operates on a points-based system. You need 70 points: • Sponsorship: 20 points (mandatory) • Job at appropriate skill level: 20 points (mandatory) • English language: 10 points (mandatory) • Salary at required level: 20 points (mandatory) Salary discounts may apply for shortage occupations, new entrants, and PhD holders. I'll identify every legitimate discount available to strengthen your application.

My Process

1. Eligibility Assessment — I verify your qualifications, job offer, and points balance 2. Sponsor Coordination — I liaise with your employer's HR team to ensure the CoS is correctly assigned 3. Document Preparation — I compile financials, English language evidence, and supporting documents 4. Application Submission — I prepare and submit your online application and biometrics booking 5. Decision & Next Steps — I advise on travel, BRP collection, and your rights under the visa 6. ILR Planning — From day one, I plan your pathway to Indefinite Leave to Remain
